Prime Attainments in Egypt in Vascular Surgery & Endovascular Domains

  • 1987 Started the first specialized department of vascular surgery in Egypt at El Sahel Teaching Hospital
  • Established Vascular Surgery as an independent specialty in the General Organization for Teaching Hospitals and Institutes of Egypt
  • 1990 Introduced Endovascular Techniques in Egypt
  • 1992 Introduced Colour Coded Duplex in Egypt
  • 2001 Founded the GOTHI Vascular Scientific Group, which played a major role in increasing professional and public awareness of endovascular therapy in Egypt
  • 2002 Founded the Endovascular Unit at the National Institute of Diabetes and Endocrinology which has rapidly become the most active endovascular unit in Egypt, and a national and regional training centre for endovascular techniques
  • 2005 Invented an endovascular simulator: the Advanced Device for Endovascular Manipulation ADAM
  • 1987 to date: Holds one of the largest private practice in Cairo; Specialized in Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Interventions; supported by the most advanced & updated non-invasive vascular labs, in three major private hospitals
  • 2011 Founded the Diabetic Foot Centre DFC-Egypt, a private medical institute aimed at providing comprehensive integrated services for the diabetic foot patient
  • 2011 Founded “Vein Egypt”: a private clinic specialised in the modern diagnosis and therapy of venous diseases
